Gulf Marine isn’t a holding company run from the top floor of some big city skyscraper; we are a coastal company born and raised along the banks of the mighty Mississippi River. We depend on a clean, thriving ecosystem to make our living, and we know that the ecosystem depends on us to stay that way.

As an environmentally-conscious company dedicated to sustainability for over 25 years, Gulf Marine goes to extensive lengths to ensure that our facility and company operates within all standards of the HACCP, FDA, USDC and EPA. We don’t just do this because it’s the law – we do it because it’s the right thing to do for our community, our customers, your customers, and the environment that we all share.

State-of-the-Art Sustainability

In order to prepare and process our crawfish with the greatest quality, Gulf Marine Product pumps over 280 gallons of water per minute through our plant. In order to do this efficiently, we obtained a special permit from the Environment Protection Agency to pump the water in a way that removes shells and foreign debris while filtering clean water through our own pumping station.

Highest Standards of Seafood Safety

At Gulf Marine, we take great pride in maintaining a plant and operations that meet or exceed the U.S. Food and Drug HACCP requirements. As a result of our demanding internal quality controls, you can always count on us to guarantee weights, counts, uniformity and quality for every order you make.

All of the seafood items we import at Gulf Marine Products also comply with all COOL Requirements. Our Master controls and every individual package always contains the following information:

• Production Code/Plant Code
• Country of Origin
• Method of Catch – Wild or Farm Raised
• Latin Species Name
• Production packing statement (i.e.- packed by company ABC or distributed by company ABC)
• Clear description of product and size

Turtle Safe, too

When you buy from Gulf Marine, you can rest assured knowing that all of our imported products and seafood meets or exceeds the standards of HACCP, FDA and USDC. But that’s not all: we believe sea turtles are among Neptune’s most majestic creatures, so we’re proud to report that all domestic Gulf Marine products comply with mandated turtle excluder device requirements.
